Overview:
We are supporting a leading international power and energy organisation in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their Stockholm-based General Accounting (R2R) function. This role is embedded in a highly collaborative and evolving finance environment, working with both in-house and outsourced teams to deliver high-quality financial reporting and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage general ledger accounting in line with IFRS and Swedish GAAP

Prepare journal entries and booking instructions for shared service teams

Draft technical accounting memos for new treatments and align with Group Accounting and auditors

Lead the preparation and finalisation of statutory financial statements

Steer or calculate provisions and accruals in coordination with business inputs

Drive and coordinate the annual external audit process

Perform closing activities, controls, and checks including internal control frameworks

Provide input for financial reporting improvements and support automation where applicable

Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, external providers, and shared service teams

Participate in internal projects and cross-functional development initiatives
Required Experience & Skills:

3–5 years' experience in accounting and statutory reporting within large or complex organisations

Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards (preferably Swedish GAAP)

Familiarity with end-to-end R2R processes

Confident using IT-based reporting systems and tools

Comfortable managing external audits and financial close processes

Able to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team
Languages:

Fluent in Swedish and English (both spoken and written)
Education:

University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
