Overview
We are seeking a technically strong Sales Engineer to support the sale of advanced equipment used in scientific experiments, research laboratories, teaching environments, and pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with commercial awareness, guiding customers from initial enquiry through to solution delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing team at a process solutions company investing in new UK facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with research institutions, universities, pharmaceutical companies, and chemical manufacturers

  • Understand customer applications and translate technical requirements into effective equipment solutions

  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals

  • Support tenders, quotations, and contract negotiations alongside internal teams

  • Provide pre- and post-sales technical support, including application advice and troubleshooting

  • Collaborate with engineering, service, and operations teams to ensure successful delivery

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and sales reports

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, chemistry, life sciences, or a related discipline

  • Experience in technical sales or applications engineering within laboratory, scientific, or process equipment

  • Strong understanding of laboratory, research, or production environments

  • Confident communicator with strong commercial and negotiation skills

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites
