Sales Application Engineer – Food Sector (Home-Based with Travel)
Location: Remote, UK – travel required to customer sites
Job Summary
We are seeking a technically driven Sales Application Engineer to support customers across the food sector. In this role, you will combine engineering expertise with commercial insight to deliver innovative process solutions that enhance food quality, extend shelf life, and improve production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support to the sales team and customers, developing customised process solutions.

Engage with clients to understand production challenges and propose solutions that improve food freshness, storage life, and product quality using technologies such as cooling, freezing, and controlled atmosphere packaging.

Deliver technical proposals, return on investment analyses, and presentations that demonstrate value and performance improvements.

Oversee trials, demonstrations, and commissioning of application technologies.

Collaborate with R&D, marketing, and operations teams to align customer requirements with product development.

Provide technical training to internal teams and customers as required.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies within the food processing sector.
Requirements

Strong technical experience in food process applications.

Background in applications engineering, process engineering, or technical sales engineering within the food sector.

Solid understanding of food cooling, freezing, and preservation methods.

Ability to translate technical solutions into customer value and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Self-motivated, capable of working independently, and able to collaborate effectively with teams.
