Safety Officer – Construction / Infrastructure Projects
Location: Onshore – Industrial Yard, Mesaieed, Qatar
Contract Duration: 01 October 2025 – 01 December 2026 (Tentative)
Visa/Sponsorship: Open to candidates eligible to work in Qatar. Sponsorship available for suitable candidates.
About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to join a major infrastructure and construction project based in Qatar. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly visible project supporting operational safety during its definition, design, and execution phases.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all project stages.

Oversee site activities, monitor contractor performance, and conduct regular safety inspections.

Review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work documentation.

Identify and implement proactive risk reduction measures across project phases.

Provide technical input during the review of HSE plans, certifications, and other contractor documents.

Support and contribute to the development of HSE objectives, performance monitoring, and safety KPIs.

Monitor the implementation of HSE legal requirements, national regulations, and international protocols applicable to project activities.

Maintain the project HSE risk register and ensure follow-up and closure of identified risks.

Participate in the assessment of contractor safety personnel, including CV reviews and interviews.

Carry out incident investigations and ensure close-out of corrective/preventive actions.

Conduct toolbox talks, site safety meetings, and promote HSE awareness among staff and contractors.

Support and perform safety audits and ensure follow-up of recommended corrective actions.
Requirements:

HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.

Associate membership of a recognised safety institution.

Minimum 12 years’ experience in operational safety, ideally within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry.

Proven experience on infrastructure and construction projects.

Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, safety standards, and risk management frameworks.

Competent in MS Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.

Prior experience in the Arabian Gulf region is desirable.

Excellent communication and documentation skills in English.

Strong attention to detail and ability to influence safe work practices across a multi-disciplinary team.
