JOB TITLE

Lead Process Engineer - Central Processing Platform

Location: South Korea

Contract period: 1/6/2026-31/8/2028

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure the Engineering Dossier is delivered with robust process engineering definitions and fit-for-purpose designs that can be procured, fabricated, transported, installed, and operated safely, meeting all corporate standards, project basis of design, and SOR requirements.

- Manage assigned project tasks within the process discipline, adhering to the project execution plan and contractual requirements, including efficient and timely review of discipline documents, identification of potential deviations or optimizations, and challenging designs for the most fit-for-purpose outcome.

- Assist in project studies and meetings related to the process discipline, ensuring involvement as per gate levels and design maturity milestones.

- Identify potential risks and scope changes within the process discipline and conduct comprehensive impact assessments to aid decision making for Package Engineering Managers.

- Ensure performance, competency, and team resource availability in close coordination with the Package Engineering Lead/Head.

JOB DIMENSIONS

- The project entails greenfield and brownfield activities for a major offshore oil field comprising 42 offshore platforms. Project scope spans multiple EPCIC packages executed in parallel over six years including new wellhead platforms, riser platforms, central processing platforms, living quarters, and new subsea pipelines.

- The Lead Process Engineer supervises a team of 2-4 process engineers, overseeing the process design development by EPC contractor engineers. The role is primarily based at the EPC contractor's premises during execution.

KEY ACTIVITIES

- Ensure and coordinate the realization of process designs in compliance with project specifications, schedule, and quality and safety standards.

- Manage technical decisions, set clear paths for decision-making, and secure design completion.

- Coordinate and manage process engineering interfaces with stakeholders, other disciplines, and packages.

- Thoroughly review project process discipline documents, ensuring timely feedback and compliance.

- Identify early-stage optimizations or improvements and encourage value engineering proposals.

- Provide clear responses to contractors and vendors regarding process design clarifications.

- Liaise with discipline engineers on deviation requests, ensure readiness of packages for approval, and support commissioning and start-up teams as needed.

- Contribute to technical audits and ensure feedback and lessons learned are incorporated in the design.

- Prepare for, attend, and actively participate in relevant project studies, technical reviews, and engineering meetings.

- Monitor, report, and manage the schedule, risks, and technical issues for timely package management.

- Identify and technically evaluate scope changes and risks; provide actions plans and support in change order assessments.

- Ensure high safety compliance and manage the performance and workload of the process engineering team.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

- Activities cover both greenfield and brownfield development, including review and commentary on engineering/vendor documentation against design requirements and specifications.

- Scope includes new offshore platform development, integration to existing facilities, pipeline installation, and debottlenecking with operations spanning several international sites.

- Detail engineering is developed at the EPC Contractor's premises, primarily in South Korea.

- Potential for international travel or missions to follow up engineering development.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Engineering degree in Process Engineering.

- Minimum 15 years' experience in offshore oil and gas process engineering with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.

- Extensive experience in process engineering within the offshore oil and gas production industry.

- Proficiency in process calculation and simulation software (e.g. HYSYS, Flarenet, Pipenet, OLGA, Ledaflow, Pipesim).

- Proficient in AVEVA Diagrams and AVEVA Engineering software, with a solid understanding of related workflows.

- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

- Familiarity with general specifications and relevant codes/standards is an advantage.

- Fluent in English.

- Ability to work effectively in complex, multicultural project environments.
