Missions / Service Dimensions

Job Dimensions

  • Technical leader for equipment and service contracts covering four ROV units

    • Two units on Drillships

    • One unit on STAD

    • One unit on a Supply Vessel

  • Participate in installation and setup of the ROV contractor’s operational base

  • Supervise contract execution

  • Ensure smooth, safe, and efficient subsea operations

Key Activities

  • Set up the ROV contract for the development project

  • Participate in ROV spread integration on drilling support assets (Drillship and Supply Vessel)

  • Develop operational procedures for safe deployment of ROV units from Drillships and Assistance Supply Vessels

  • Manage and coordinate ROV units to avoid downtime, including optimization of Assistance Vessel use

  • Contribute to establishing procedures for surface BOP panel testing as acceptance tests for both the BOP and ROV system

  • Establish procedures for deploying acoustic beacons used for rig positioning and station keeping

  • Develop operational procedures for drilling with mud returns to seabed

  • Establish procedures for subsea activation tools, ensuring compliance with company requirements

  • Identify and mobilize specialized ROV tools necessary for safe and efficient operations

  • Oversee proper maintenance and repair of all ROV units

Context & Environment

  • Golfinho-Atum Project involving construction of two LNG trains in northern Mozambique

  • Facilities will process more than 2 BCF of gas per day from offshore subsea gathering systems

  • Wells located approximately 40 km offshore

  • Well construction teams primarily based in Maputo

  • Logistics, QA/QC, HSE, and support functions based in Pemba, with a 9-hectare logistics base

  • One Drillship used for the drilling campaign

  • Water depth ranging from 700 m to 1,400 m

  • Well depth below mudline from 2,000 m to 3,150 m

  • Planned well architecture: 36" x 20" x 14" x 10-3/4" casing/liner scheme

Accountabilities

  • Ensure smooth and efficient ROV operations critical to subsea field development

  • Ensure ROV equipment availability, proper maintenance, and operational readiness for subsea interventions

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Engineering degree

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Fluent in English (reading and writing)

  • Strong team spirit and excellent listening skills
