Job Title: Rotating Equipment Field and Quality Engineer
Location: Boden, Sweden
Type: Annually Renewable Contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
An international leader in sustainable industrial development is currently seeking a skilled Rotating Equipment Field and Quality Engineer for an ongoing project in Northern Sweden. The project involves one of Europe’s most ambitious efforts to decarbonise heavy industry through clean and sustainable steel production.
This is a field-based engineering position ideal for professionals who enjoy hands-on work in challenging environments, with a strong focus on rotating equipment installation, quality control, and start-up support.
Key Responsibilities
Field Engineering

Oversee the installation, alignment, and commissioning of rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, and motors

Conduct on-site inspections, performance checks, and troubleshooting

Supervise contractors and vendors during mechanical installation and commissioning

Provide technical guidance to on-site teams and coordinate with engineering and maintenance groups

Ensure all work aligns with project specifications and design requirements
Quality Engineering

Perform quality control inspections of rotating machinery and related systems

Review and approve quality documentation including inspection test plans (ITPs), FAT/SAT reports, non-conformance reports, and final turnover packages

Ensure compliance with international codes and standards such as API, ISO, and ASME

Liaise with suppliers to manage quality concerns and implement corrective actions
Documentation and Reporting

Produce technical and site inspection reports, audit summaries, and quality records

Maintain logs of equipment history, failures, inspections, and corrective measures

Support root cause investigations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 5 years’ experience in rotating equipment field engineering or quality assurance
Technical Skills

Hands-on knowledge of rotating equipment including centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, pumps, and turbines

Proficient in alignment techniques, vibration monitoring, and balancing

Strong understanding of quality standards such as API 610, API 617, and ISO 9001

Able to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and equipment datasheets

Excellent problem-solving skills with a structured and analytical mindset

Strong communication and coordination skills, especially in a multicultural, cross-functional environment

Able to work independently in remote project locations under demanding conditions

Detail-oriented with a high standard of safety and quality awareness
Preferred Qualifications

Background in oil and gas, petrochemicals, or power generation

Certifications in quality systems (such as ISO Auditor or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer)

Experience using CMMS or digital quality documentation platforms
