Job Description Overview:

The Rotating Equipment Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise and maintenance engineering solutions to support the maintenance execution team with procedures, spare parts, and specialized knowledge in high-value, complex rotating equipment. The role focuses on gas turbines, compressors, and pumps, with the goal of ensuring the reliability, availability, and efficient performance of rotating machinery. The engineer will be heavily involved in incident-free operations, preventive maintenance, modification proposals, and technical evaluations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance Engineering:
    • Develop maintenance solutions for complex rotating equipment (gas turbines, compressors, and pumps).
    • Support the execution team with the correct procedures, spare parts, and technical specialization.
  2. Performance Analysis & Condition Monitoring:
    • Analyze gas turbine, compressor, and pump performance and condition monitoring data.
    • Evaluate mechanical rotating equipment items for stock procurement.
  3. Modifications and Design:
    • Develop and manage Class II modifications for high-value turbine machinery with a cost-effective, fit-for-duty approach.
    • Provide input to Class I modification projects executed by Engineering & Construction teams.
  4. Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:
    • Ensure preventive maintenance aligns with HSE requirements, equipment reliability, and availability.
    • Develop scopes for major preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, including emergency repairs.
  5. Risk and Failure Management:
    • Perform risk analysis on deferred Safety and Environmental Critical Elements (SECEs).
    • Propose action plans for failing SECEs and resolve recurrent failures to improve equipment reliability.
  6. Spare Parts Management:
    • Manage spare parts stock for rotating equipment under your responsibility.
    • Ensure spare parts replenishment is done efficiently, including referencing and attachment to equipment in the BOM.
  7. Field Operations Support:
    • Provide technical assistance to offshore and onshore teams for unplanned shutdowns, especially for Siemens SGT 700 and SOLAR turbine packages.
    • Assist in the development of technical content for maintenance operations performed by offshore, campaign, or shutdown teams.
  8. Innovation & Cost Awareness:
    • Promote cost awareness and innovation within maintenance work scopes.
    • Identify opportunities to improve contractor/supplier interfaces, reduce costs, and enhance the quality of services/products.
  9. Contractor & Supplier Management:
    • Support the definition of specialized service company requirements and manage contractor interfaces to improve operational outcomes.
  10. Obsolescence Management:
    • Anticipate and mitigate the risks of obsolescence in rotating equipment, developing action plans and presenting them to senior management.

       

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Siemens Field Service Engineer/Technician for SGT700/SGT750/SGT800 gas turbines (gas compression, WI, or power generation).
  • Significant knowledge and experience with SGT700/SGT750/SGT800 packages, including their maintenance procedures.
  • Medically fit for offshore oil and gas platform travel.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with technical vocabulary.
