Risk Engineer – Industrial & Energy Sector
Location: Dubai/ Abu Dhabi (with relocation support)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Risk Engineer to join a leading organisation in the industrial and energy sector. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, commercial insight, and a passion for safety and risk mitigation to support clients operating in high-hazard environments.
We are seeking a professional with a strong background in risk assessment, asset integrity, and operational safety, particularly within refinery, chemical, petrochemical, or hydrogen facilities. Prior experience in the insurance sector or working as a Survey Risk Engineer is essential.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed risk assessments to evaluate site conditions, safety controls, and operational practices.

Identify risk characteristics and support accurate risk selection and pricing.

Investigate major incidents and failures, determining causation and responsibility across involved parties.

Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance survey methods and risk analysis processes.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and refine virtual survey processes and tools.

Recommend and help implement improvements in survey technology, reporting accuracy, and delivery timelines.

Assist in developing tailored risk management solutions aligned with clients’ operational and commercial needs.

Contribute to broader risk strategy initiatives with focus on cost efficiency and quality assurance.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

10–15 years’ experience in industrial sectors such as Refining, Petrochemical, COMAH, or Hydrogen.

Experience in the Insurance or Risk Surveying industry is essential.

Prior exposure to the Oil and Gas industry is advantageous.
