Job Title: Risk & Opportunities Engineer

Location: Lulea, Sweden

Contract Type: Annually Renewable Contract

Work Schedule: 3 weeks on site, 1 week remote (rotation), 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

Overview:

Join a leading global firm delivering consulting, engineering, and architecture services on an international scale. Be part of an exciting project in Northern Sweden focused on constructing a state-of-the-art plant for Green Steel production, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 95% compared to conventional steel methods.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the development and implementation of the Project Risk Management Plan.

- Identify, evaluate, and categorize project risks and opportunities in collaboration with discipline leads.

- Maintain and update the risk register, ensuring traceability and consistency with the WBS, CBS, and schedule.

- Facilitate risk workshops and stakeholder interviews to gather inputs.

- Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis (QRA) using Monte Carlo simulation tools (e.g., Primavera Risk Analysis).

- Propose and track mitigation and enhancement actions, assigning responsibilities and deadlines.

- Provide periodic risk reports and dashboards for internal and client reviews.

- Ensure alignment of risks with cost contingency and schedule buffers.

- Monitor emerging risks and lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in project risk management or similar roles.

- Familiarity with risk management standards (PMI, ISO 31000, AACEI, etc.).

- Experience with QRA tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis or @Risk.

- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and risk management platforms (e.g., ARM, Safran Risk).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and facilitation abilities.

- Fluent in English.

- RMP or equivalent certification (desirable).

- Team player with the ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
