Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Renewable Risk Engineer to support multi-line risk engineering activities across Construction, Energy & Power, Casualty, Environmental, and Financial Lines. The role focuses on the middle-market segment and involves working closely with underwriters, brokers, and clients to enhance technical risk understanding and mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead collaborative initiatives with cross-functional engineering teams to improve risk engineering processes and engagement.

Review and develop internal workflows to drive efficiency and consistency in risk evaluation.

Conduct risk surveys and site visits of renewable energy projects (e.g. wind, solar, battery storage, T&D assets).

Provide input into client-facing reports, including risk evaluations and improvement recommendations.

Contribute to the development of risk engineering guidance and tools.
Technical & Professional Requirements:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering roles related to onshore wind, solar, battery energy storage systems, and power transmission & distribution.

Prior experience as an insurance risk engineer strongly preferred.

Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline (BSc/BEng/MEng).

Chartered Engineer status (e.g. CEng with IMechE, IChemE, IStructE, ICE, etc.) preferred.

Deep understanding of the Energy & Power sectors, with a commitment to ongoing technical development.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences.
