Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and technically capable ROC Engineer to join a growing operations team managing advanced energy storage systems remotely. This role focuses on system monitoring, data analysis, customer support, and coordination with engineering and commissioning teams. The ideal candidate has a strong electro-mechanical background, is confident working independently, and enjoys digging into performance data to keep complex systems operating at their best.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor global energy systems from the Remote Operations Centre (ROC) and respond to performance deviations.
- Analyse performance metrics including power unit capacity, battery health, state of charge, and voltage trends.
- Log work orders and escalate issues when abnormal operating conditions are detected.
- Support field commissioning remotely and assist with acceptance testing procedures.
- Follow and improve existing ROC operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, product development, and field operations.
- Provide technical support to customers, troubleshooting remotely as needed.
- Maintain security monitoring across project sites.
- Deliver feedback to engineering and product teams to support continual system improvement.
- Occasionally travel to assist with installation, commissioning, or field troubleshooting.
- Rotate through other departments to broaden your understanding of full system lifecycle support.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years combined experience through work, college or trade school with a focus on electro-mechanical systems or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data and trend analysis.
- Confident communicating technical details to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Background in electrical system troubleshooting.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively.
- Able to pass any required background checks or drug screenings.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (<10%).
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Basic knowledge of network and computer troubleshooting.
- Prior experience in remote monitoring, SCADA, or EMS environments is an advantage.
