Job Title: Regional Communications Advisor (Limburg Team)

Location: Arnhem / Weert / Hybrid (with travel to Limburg project sites)

Hours per Week: 28-36

Contract Duration: 8 September 2025 - 31 December 2025 (extension possible)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Regional Communications Advisor to temporarily join the Limburg regional team within a leading Dutch grid operator. You'll play a key role in supporting large-scale energy infrastructure projects, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and enhancing regional visibility in line with the energy transition.

This role requires a balance of strategic advisory and hands-on communication work-from drafting communication plans to being the spokesperson for regional projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication strategies for both the Limburg region and specific energy infrastructure projects.
  • Act as the communications point of contact for projects such as substation expansions, grid upgrades, and energy estate developments.
  • Coordinate and deliver communication with government agencies, businesses, residents, and media.
  • Draft clear texts, press releases, and regional communication tools.
  • Organize stakeholder consultations, information sessions, and community engagement activities.
  • Monitor regional developments and translate insights into communication approaches.
  • Proactively manage regional media relations and ensure timely, transparent messaging.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a communications advisor, preferably in infrastructure or energy-related projects.
  • Strong track record in stakeholder management, spokesperson duties, and environmental communication.
  • Experience working with both strategic communication planning and operational execution.
  • Skilled in online and offline communication tools.
  • Proactive, flexible, and able to build trust with stakeholders in politically sensitive environments.
  • Living in the southern Netherlands is strongly preferred due to the regional focus.
