About the Role:
A leading global provider of consulting, engineering, and architecture services is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a major Green Steel project. This is a unique opportunity to work with an international team, supporting the financial and contractual aspects of large-scale construction projects, and ensuring they are delivered within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support contract administration, including preparation of tender documentation, contracts, budgets, and counterproposals. Assist the Contract Manager in contract administration, compliance, and dispute management.
- Work closely with Cost Control to prepare and review detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment. Monitor contract expenditures and ensure compliance with cost control procedures. Review invoices and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparing detailed cost reports, including progress reports, cost forecasts, and final accounts. Provide input for tracking and reporting contract cash flow and financial status.
- Identify financial or contractual risks, propose mitigation strategies, and conduct site visits to review progress and validate costs.
- Collaborate with contract managers, project managers, construction managers, engineers, cost controllers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with experience in large scale EPCM projects.
- Proven track record in construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods of measurement, cost estimation, financial management, and contract law.
- Proficient with relevant software such as Microsoft Office Suite; ability to read and extract data from DWG files and other technical drawings.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with keen analytical ability and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience working in Sweden and familiarity with the AMA system (Allmän Material- och Arbetsbeskrivning/General Material and Work Descriptions) is highly desirable.
