Quantity Surveyor

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Overview:

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all financial and contractual aspects of projects, ensuring effective cost control, profitability, and compliance with UAE standards. Core duties include preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, handling variations, and final account settlements for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Cost Management & Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates, budget forecasts, and BOQs for building, infrastructure, or civil projects.

- Contract Administration: Manage tender processes, analyze bids, and prepare tender reports.

- Variations & Claims: Identify, measure, and value changes in scope; manage contractor and subcontractor claims, variations, and payments.

- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly progress reports, cash flow forecasts, and final account settlements.

- Site Management: Conduct site visits, review drawings for accuracy, and liaise with clients and subcontractors.

Requirements & Qualifications:

- Experience: 10+ years in the construction sector, specifically within the UAE.

- Classification: Classified Engineer "Specialized" - "Building Construction of all types Contracts" is mandatory.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

- Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and estimation software such as CCS Candy.

- Knowledge: Strong understanding of UAE building codes, local procurement regulations, and standard measurement methods (e.g., POMI).

- Languages: Excellent verbal and written English; Arabic is a plus.
