Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: UAE (Site-based or Head Office-based roles available)

Key Purpose:

- Analyze and prepare technical and commercial bids for tenders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Scrutinize tender documents, identify discrepancies, and prepare technical clarification letters for consultants.

- Prepare budget estimates for projects.

- Conduct detailed and accurate quantity take-offs.

- Prepare sub-contract bid documents.

- Evaluate subcontract quotations technically and commercially; negotiate with subcontractors.

- Organize communications with departmental staff.

- Prepare material and manpower requirements.

- Manage cost control for ongoing projects.

- Identify and prepare project variations and monthly valuations.

- Verify subcontractor variations and payment certificates.

- Conduct site visits and assess site conditions for tenders.

Candidate Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

- Minimum 10 years' experience in preparing estimates and Bills of Quantities or in contract administration of major civil, commercial, residential, high-rise buildings, and industrial projects.

- Experience with reputable contracting companies in the UAE is essential; high-rise building experience required.

- Knowledge of various measurement methods and cost analysis techniques.

- Strong computer skills with proficiency in standard software such as Excel, Word, MS Project, and estimating software.

- In-depth knowledge of contracts and ability to identify and address contract deviations or deficiencies.

- Familiarity with standard construction contract language, procedures, claims, variations, and correspondence.

- Excellent written communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural workforce.

- Flexibility to integrate into either site-based or office-based teams.
