Location: Lulea, Sweden
Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract
Residential / Rotation: 4 weeks on office/site, 1 week remote; 5 days per week
Package: Daily rate, accommodation, transportation, and paid holidays
Sector: Green Steel / EPCM Construction

Role Overview

We are partnered with a multinational engineering, consulting, and architecture organisation delivering a Green Steel project in Northern Sweden. The Quantity Surveyor will manage contractual and financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring costs are controlled, contracts are administered effectively, and project quality is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support contract administration by preparing tender documentation, contracts, budgets, and counterproposals

  • Assist the Contract Manager with contract administration, compliance, and managing disputes, changes, or applications for payment

  • Work with cost control teams to prepare and review cost estimates, including materials, labour, and equipment

  • Monitor contract expenditures and ensure cost control procedures are followed

  • Review invoices, progress claims, timesheets, and third-party documentation for accuracy

  • Assist in preparing financial reports, including cost forecasts, progress reports, and final accounts

  • Support tracking and reporting of contract cash flows and financial status

  • Identify potential financial or contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies

  • Conduct work front visits to verify progress, remeasure work, ensure adherence to contracts, and validate costs

  • Collaborate with project managers, construction managers, engineers, cost controllers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in large-scale EPCM projects

  • Proven experience working on construction projects

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods of measurement, cost estimation, financial management, and contract law

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to read technical drawings (DWG files)

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Experience working in Sweden and familiarity with the AMA system (Allmän Material- och Arbetsbeskrivning / General Material and Work Descriptions)
