Overview
A leading engineering and construction organisation is seeking a Quality Lead to oversee quality management activities at a major oil and gas fabrication yard in India. This role offers the opportunity to manage and implement quality systems, supervise contractor and vendor activities, and ensure compliance with industry standards during the fabrication of large-scale platforms and topsides.
The Quality Lead will play a key role in ensuring fabrication processes meet project objectives, while driving continuous improvement and lessons learned across the team.
Key Responsibilities

Implement and maintain the project quality management system and ensure effective contractor quality management

Supervise quality activities during fabrication to meet overall project objectives

Interface with fabrication yard teams, contractors, vendors, and service providers to promptly resolve quality issues

Coordinate inspections and ensure all non-conformances are addressed effectively

Provide feedback on quality performance and facilitate lessons learned for continuous improvement

Participate in safety management programs, including site safety walks and issuing observations

Maintain close communication with the Head of Quality and project leadership regarding contractor, subcontractor, and vendor quality performance

Manage non-conformances and technical deviations in collaboration with engineering and quality teams

Identify potential quality or progress concerns and recommend corrective actions

Support other quality-related tasks as directed by senior quality management
Essential Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Engineering

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in quality management within the Oil & Gas industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role

Experience working with contractors, service companies, or large-scale operating organisations

Strong knowledge of relevant quality systems, industry standards, and inspection practices

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Strong interpersonal, analytical, organisational, and planning skills

Ability to influence decisions and interact confidently with project management teams and contractors
Desirable Experience

Additional qualifications in quality, welding, or NDE inspection

Experience in large-scale fabrication and construction projects

Proven track record of implementing lessons learned and process improvements
