Job Summary
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring that products and services consistently meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves developing and implementing quality control processes, managing inspection and testing activities, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
The QC Manager works closely with production, operations, and senior management to maintain high-quality outputs, minimise defects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure products meet internal specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Manage and oversee quality inspections, testing, and audits.
- Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor quality performance metrics and produce regular reports for senior management.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company policies.
- Manage and mentor the quality control team, including training and performance management.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to improve processes and reduce defects.
- Maintain accurate documentation relating to quality control activities.
- Support external audits and regulatory inspections where required.
- Review and approve quality documentation, test results, and certifications.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or similar role.
- Previous management or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality reporting tools
