Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract

Location: Lulea, Sweden

Residential/ Rotation: 3 weeks on site, one week working on remote, on rotation. Working 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

Kintec are currently partnered with a Multi-national corporation which provides consulting, engineering, and architecture services Internationally constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that will produce Green Steel - Green Steel production emits up to 95% less CO ₂  compared conventional steel production.

Job Brief:

We're currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in Sweden. In this role, you will ensure that construction is performed according to the contractual documents, plans, specifications, and quality standards, focusing on quality assurance and control throughout the project lifecycle. Supporting the QA/QC Manager on site, you will implement and develop the quality management systems on site, assuring compliance with the project standards and regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to build a solid quality system on site. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quality assurance, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and maintaining quality policies, procedures, and standards for products or services, ensuring products and services meet all relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards. 
  • Overseeing quality assurance and control processes, reviewing contractors' ITPs and procedures, conducting audits, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving quality issues and non-conformities. Update the project Quality Management System (QMS) with non-conformities and improvements. Prepare reports on malfunctions and corrective actions.
  • Leading and managing the quality control team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Determine, review and implement quality metrics on site.
  • Coordinate occasional audit visits to site contractors.
  • Participation on project meetings and preparation of reports.
  • Coordination with external quality assurance auditors and Notified Bodies and ensure legal compliance.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Previous work experience (12 years at least) as a Quality Lead or similar role, most of them working at construction sites, with experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methods.
  • Large experience with civil works, structural steel, piping installation and/or electrical and mechanical work at sites is essential.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth understanding of technical documentation, procedures and test plans.
  • Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Good analytical skills.
  • Experience in medium-large scale EPC/EPCM projects.
  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant field.
  • Any additional certification in Quality Control and/or Assurance is a plus.
  • Fluent in English.
