QA/QC Inspector (Painting and Coating)
Location: Qatar
Contract Duration: From Oct 1, 2025 to Dec 1, 2026 (tentative)
Qualification:
- Minimum technical school diploma or equivalent painting/coating certification from a recognised organisation such as NACE or TWI.
- NACE Level II or BGAS-CSWIP Grade II certification is mandatory.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas downstream industry.
- Experience with international consultancy companies, third-party inspection/certification companies, EPIC contractors, or end users in major project execution is essential.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality requirements for fabrication, construction, and installation activities are implemented according to approved QC procedures and project documentation.
- Verify that contractors, subcontractors, and vendors have competent resources, apply internationally accepted practices, and deliver products compliant with corporate and project quality standards.
- Monitor all coating activities on site and fabrication yards, ensuring all welds and surfaces are coated according to approved standards.
- Conduct systematic inspections at each stage of surface preparation, painting, wrapping, and repair work.
- Witness contractors' painters and blasters qualification tests carried out by paint manufacturers and evaluate associated test results.
- Verify the implementation of the inspection system for all preparatory, painting, and wrapping work, including hold points where work may not proceed without formal clearance from the QA/QC Engineer.
- Monitor in-process inspection of offshore steel structure fabrications and topside facilities at contractor fabrication sites to verify compliance with corporate standards, project specifications, and international codes.
- Provide daily reports to the QA/QC Engineer on contractor compliance with contract procedures, standards, and any quality issues identified.
