QA/QC Inspector – Onshore Operations
Location: Onshore (Ras Laffan / Doha area)
Employment Type: Full-time, 2-year initial contract (possible extension)
Work Schedule: 8–10 hours/day, Sunday to Thursday, 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off (single status), 30 days annual leave (couple status)

Role Overview
A leading energy organisation is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to support onshore operations, expansions, and start-up activities. The role involves inspecting materials, maintenance, repairs, and modifications for static equipment, process piping, storage tanks, and related spares in line with industry codes and standards. The QA/QC Inspector will coordinate inspections, both destructive and non-destructive, across plant, warehouse, contractor, and vendor locations.
Key Responsibilities

Perform inspections of materials and equipment, including valves, piping, fittings, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels, ensuring compliance with purchase orders, codes, and standards

Support engineering teams in developing and maintaining welding procedures and welder qualification records

Conduct or witness various non-destructive and destructive tests to verify material conformity

Coordinate periodic inspection of gas cylinders and portable tanks, maintaining certificates and records

Execute QA/QC activities during planned and unplanned shutdowns, ensuring proper permits and safety compliance

Review contractor maintenance repair procedures, inspection and test plans, and welding procedures

Support documentation of QA/QC activities in SAP and maintain operational records in relevant databases

Conduct audits of suppliers and contractors to ensure quality systems meet operational standards

Participate in site visits, shutdown meetings, and decision-making for inspection scopes and pressure test approvals
Qualifications

Higher National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Professional certifications such as AWS-SCWI, CSWIP 3.2, API 510, 570, or 653 as applicable

NDT certification (ASNT/PCN Level-2 in UT, MT, PT, RT, or equivalent)
Experience and Skills

Minimum 4 years of experience in material inspection, fabrication, welding, NDT, testing, and coating in the oil and gas industry

Good knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, AWS, ASTM, API, NACE/ISO)

Proficient in written and spoken English

Computer literate and able to maintain accurate data and records

Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team collaboration skills

Ability to work independently or as a delegate to engineers, providing technical support as required
