QA/QC ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL)
Location: Qatar
Qualification
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
- Valid CSWIP 3.2 or AWS Senior Welding Inspection Certificate (CWI), BGAS-CSWIP Grade 1, or NACE Level II certification with at least two years post-certification experience.
- NDT Level II in RT and UT (or relevant NDT methods as per applicable standards).
- Certified QMS Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2015) with at least two years post-training experience.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years as a QA/QC Engineer or client representative, leading multi-discipline QC inspector teams for inspection & testing activities in oil & gas offshore platforms, subsea pipelines, or similar projects.
- Experience across all phases: manufacturing, fabrication, construction, and offshore installation/laying.
- Knowledge of specialized activities such as sour services, cladded piping, CRA pipelines, welding, NDT, repair works, painting/coating, internal lining, and corrosion-resistant materials.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
QA/QC Oversight
- Ensure all work performed by contractors, vendors, manufacturers, and third-party inspection agencies complies with project specifications, corporate standards, international codes, and contract QA/QC requirements.
- Verify implementation of approved project QA/QC documentation, including quality plans, procedures, control plans, ITPs, and inspection checklists.
Team Leadership
- Lead and maintain QC inspectors' teamwork approach across fabrication, construction, and offshore installation activities.
- Monitor contractor/vendor inspection personnel and address any deficiencies promptly.
Issue Resolution & Reporting
- Serve as the focal point for resolving shop/site QA/QC issues in consultation with senior QA personnel.
- Control and follow up on technical deviations, material substitutions, and changes to inspection/test requirements.
- Track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Ensure proper preparation and management of inspection and test records, including submission of test packs and dossiers.
- Report the status of QA/QC activities and findings to senior management on a daily basis.
