Job Title: QA/QC Engineer (Electrical)
Location: Dukhan, Qatar (site-based)
Contract Duration: Until April 2030
Working Schedule: 6 days per week
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer (Electrical) to support a major construction project in the energy sector. The role requires a strong background in electrical quality assurance and control, covering construction and commissioning activities. You will oversee compliance with international standards, lead inspections, and ensure flawless execution of electrical works across large-scale industrial facilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized university
- IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor
- IECEx-CoPC, CompEx, or similar certification (desirable)
- Professional membership or certifications with institutions such as ASQ-CMQ&OE, MCQI-CQP, or similar (desirable)
Experience
- Minimum 15 years' experience in large-scale construction of oil and gas, power, solar (photovoltaic), or related process plants
- Proven track record with EPC contractors or project owners in a similar QA/QC role
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC requirements, testing, and acceptance criteria for electrical systems up to 440kV
- Hands-on experience in reviewing Quality Plans, ITPs, QCPs, MARs, and performing inspections on equipment such as cables, motors, MCCs, VSDs, DBs, generators, transformers, CP systems, lighting, switchgear, and panels
- Exposure to solar power systems, including panels, inverters, transformers, batteries, UPS, SCADA, and related distribution systems (LV, MV, HV)
- Experience leading inspection teams, monitoring KPIs, and implementing quality surveillance programs
- Familiarity with completion management systems, inspection and test records, and technical integrity verification
- In-depth knowledge of international standards and codes (IEC, IEEE, BS, ISO, UL, IOGP, etc.)
Key Responsibilities
- Support contractors in preparing and submitting QA/QC documentation in line with project schedules
- Review and approve QMS, engineering, and procurement documents
- Ensure project QA/QC requirements are implemented on-site and at supplier/subcontractor facilities
- Conduct inspections, testing, audits, and quality walkthroughs to identify and resolve non-conformities
- Lead the management of non-conformance reports, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Monitor and verify construction records, preservation systems, calibration registers, and inspection data
- Oversee contractor performance, provide guidance to inspection teams, and report to project management
- Participate in project QHSE audits, vendor/supplier pre-qualification audits, and activity-level compliance checks
- Ensure compliance with project quality management systems and site safety requirements

- The role is site-based with exposure to outdoor and climatic conditions at least 50% of the time
