  • 8 to 10 hours per day

  • 6 days per week

Overview

An international energy sector organisation is seeking an experienced QA QC Electrical and Instrumentation Inspector to support major oil and gas infrastructure projects in Qatar. The role is responsible for overseeing electrical and instrumentation inspection activities and ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and quality requirements.

This position operates within active operating facilities and requires close coordination with project teams, contractors, and operations personnel to ensure quality, safety, and compliance throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee electrical and instrumentation inspection activities across project sites

  • Review contractor quality documentation and provide clear feedback on compliance with project requirements

  • Verify that contractor inspection processes and procedures are effectively implemented

  • Conduct site inspections covering installation, testing, and calibration of electrical and instrumentation equipment

  • Perform material and equipment receipt inspections including visual and dimensional verification where applicable

  • Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards

  • Ensure the latest revision of project quality documentation is available and properly maintained

  • Prepare daily inspection reports highlighting key observations and quality concerns

  • Participate in site quality verification activities such as inspections, surveillance visits, audits, and quality walkdowns

  • Record, track, and support the close out of non conformances identified during inspections

  • Coordinate with construction supervisors, engineering teams, and contractors on quality related matters

  • Act as a key field level point of contact between project quality teams and contractors

  • Maintain records of inspection observations and follow up actions in accordance with project quality procedures

Technical Scope

  • Electrical systems including low and medium voltage equipment, motors, transformers, switchgear, distribution boards, relays, UPS systems, battery banks, lighting, and small power panels

  • Instrumentation and control systems including transmitters, gauges, analyzers, control cabinets, instrument tubing and field instruments

  • Control and automation systems including DCS, ESD, PLCs and integrated control systems

  • Fire and gas detection systems, PAGA systems, and telecommunications equipment

  • Industrial control systems networks and related equipment such as servers, workstations, and network switches

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering Diploma or equivalent technical qualification

  • Trade certification in electrical or instrumentation disciplines is preferred

  • Minimum 8 years of QA QC inspection experience within oil and gas or energy sector projects

  • Experience working on both greenfield and brownfield projects is preferred

  • Experience supporting inspections during shutdown or live operating facility projects

  • Experience inspecting electrical and instrumentation installations during procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning stages

  • Strong understanding of international electrical and instrumentation codes and standards such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, and ATEX or IECEx
