QA/QC Coordinator
Location: Qatar
Qualification:
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering from a recognised engineering faculty.
- Valid CSWIP 3.2.1 or AWS Senior Welding Inspection Certificate (SCWI) with at least five years post-certification experience.
- BGAS Grade 2 or NACE Level II Coating Inspector qualification is preferable.
- NDT Level II in RT, UT, PT & MT per ASNT or ISO requirements.
- Certified QMS Lead Auditor per ISO 9001:2015 with a minimum of five years auditing experience.
- Good knowledge of international codes and standards such as EN, ISO, API, ASME, and ASTM.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in complex, multicultural project environments.
- Proficient in MS Office, database management, spreadsheets, and email communication.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years experience as QA/QC Coordinator or QA/QC Lead, managing multidisciplinary QC inspection teams for major oil and gas projects including offshore process platforms, jackets, subsea pipelines, covering all phases from manufacturing and fabrication to offshore installation.
- At least 5 years offshore project experience.
- Experience with international oil companies, operators, or EPIC contractors.
- Proven track record managing contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party inspectors in large projects.
- Experience with multidisciplinary activities in offshore projects such as structural and piping fabrication/installation, NDT material inspection, mechanical equipment installation, sour services, cladded piping, corrosion resistant alloy pipelines, welding, NDT, repair works, dimensional control, painting, coating, internal lining, and sheathing.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide daily status reports to the Senior Quality Engineer.
- Supervise and coordinate all quality management system activities during construction and installation phases.
- Ensure all work by contractors, subcontractors, vendors, manufacturers, service providers, and third-party inspectors complies with project specifications, corporate standards, international codes, and contract QA/QC requirements.
- Review contractors' and vendors' technical and quality documents, including ITPs and QA/QC procedures within the document management system.
- Ensure approved QA/QC documents such as quality plans, control procedures, ITPs, and inspection checklists are implemented at site and fabrication levels.
- Lead and coordinate QC inspectors' work at fabrication yards, site construction, and offshore installation, reviewing inspection reports.
- Monitor main contractor and vendor compliance with approved quality requirements and address any deficiencies. Oversee daily inspection activities of third-party inspection personnel.
- Act as focal point for resolving shop and site quality control issues in consultation with senior quality and HSE management.
- Control and follow up on technical deviations, material substitutions, and changes to inspection and test requirements at shops, sites, and installations.
- Manage non-conformance reports, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Monitor and report contractor quality statistics and key performance indicators, including welding repair rates, NDE performance, NCR status, audit findings, and surveillance reports.
- Ensure preparation and management of proper inspection and test records, compilation of test packs, dossiers, and material review board documentation for submission.
