Position Title: PVV Superintendent
Location: Sohar, Oman / Qatar (Candidates must be open to relocation depending on project needs)
Contract Type: Residential, Annually Renewable Contract
Working Schedule: Monday - Friday
Start Date: 01-JUL-2025 or ASAP
End Date: 28-FEB-2027 (with possibility of extension)
Role Purpose:
The PVV (Piping, Valves, Vessels) Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all PVV-related activities during the EPCIC12 Riser Platform project execution at the worksite. This includes fabrication, installation, and pre-commissioning phases, with strict adherence to safety, quality, and schedule requirements. The role involves supervising contractor activities, ensuring material compliance, and facilitating successful project delivery.
Key Accountabilities:
Safety
- Complete all safety training (e.g., IF+, HSE Golden Rules).
- Promote and ensure compliance with HSE standards and stop unsafe acts.
- Attend toolbox meetings and ensure a strong safety presence on site.
Quality & Compliance
- Understand and enforce compliance with Company PVV and pipeline standards.
- Collaborate with QA/QC to ensure high-quality execution and close-out of NCRs.
- Ensure adherence to Management of Change (MoC) procedures.
Documentation & Drawings
- Review and validate AFC/shop/as-built drawings and execution procedures.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of as-built documentation.
Materials & Storage
- Monitor PVV material deliveries and inspections.
- Ensure proper material storage and segregation of surplus/scrap.
Personnel & Organization
- Define PVV supervisor job descriptions and participate in recruitment.
- Allocate and manage PVV supervisors based on workfront requirements.
Fabrication & Execution
- Supervise daily PVV activities and ensure contractor compliance with specifications.
- Track contractor manpower and provide daily reports.
- Liaise with engineering teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Pre-Commissioning
- Lead pre-commissioning punch list close-out based on the baseline schedule.
- Ensure correct implementation of pre-commissioning procedures.
Communication & Meetings
- Maintain open communication channels with contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct weekly PVV meetings and daily toolbox talks.
- Provide weekly progress updates and flag areas of concern.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or Construction
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years in offshore piping fabrication for oil & gas projects
- At least 3 years on fixed platforms (topsides and/or jackets)
- Familiarity with TotalEnergies/NOC specifications, AISC, API, ASME, AWS, ISO
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in PVV-related inspections (RT, UT, MPI, PMI)
- Experienced in pre-commissioning and punch list close-out
- Strong knowledge of HSE, QA/QC, and permit-to-work systems
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management
- Effective communicator in multicultural environments
- Fluent in English; computer literate
- Able to work in remote desert environments with tight deadlines
