Position: Project Manager – Marine Civil Works
Location: Qatar | LNG Berth 2 Upgrade Project
Role Summary:
The Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of the LNG Berth 2 Upgrade Project, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution of marine civil works, including structural reinforcement, tie-back systems, seabed excavation, and marine coordination. The role demands leadership, client interface management (QatarEnergy & RLIC), technical oversight, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage construction of mooring and berthing dolphin reinforcements, tie-back systems, and parallel motion fenders.

Oversee bathymetric surveys and seabed dredging works.

Serve as the primary interface with QatarEnergy, RLIC, and other regulatory bodies.

Ensure compliance with RLIC permit and marine unit approvals (SOEF vetting, spud barge approvals, vessel suitability).

Coordinate marine logistics with shipping agents, subcontractors, and vessels.

Lead multidisciplinary engineering and site teams with clear roles and responsibilities.

Monitor contractor and vendor performance for fabrication and installation of tie-back systems and fenders.

Track project deliverables, ensuring milestones such as PQD approvals, shop drawings, and method statements are completed on time.

Identify and mitigate potential schedule risks, including regulatory delays, port traffic, and weather constraints.

Ensure HSE compliance and adherence to QatarEnergy safety requirements.

Oversee quality control for civil and marine works, including concrete repairs and platform installations.

Prepare, submit, and approve all method statements, technical documents, and shop drawings.

Provide regular progress reports and escalate critical issues to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Marine Engineering (or related field).

15+ years’ experience managing marine construction or EPC projects, preferably in oil & gas port facilities.

Proven experience working with Qatari regulatory bodies (QatarEnergy, RLIC).

Strong track record in managing subcontractors, marine vessels, and barge-based operations.

Familiarity with bathymetric survey methods, fender systems, tie-back installations, and precast concrete systems.
Skills Required:

Deep understanding of marine construction methodologies and RLIC interface requirements.

Proficiency in Primavera and engineering documentation control.
