Assignment Type: Initial 18 Month Contract with expectation of extension

Location: Boden, Sweden

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday - Residential

Kintec are currently partnered with a pioneering Green Steel Production Company who are constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that will produce Green Steel – Green Steel production emits up to 95% less CO₂ compared conventional steel production.  

DESCRIPTION

Right now, we are looking for a Project Manager Balance of Plant for Rail, Roads, Ponds & Non-Process Buildings for our Site Infrastructure & Utilities team. In this role you will report to the Head of the Area and work within our Project Delivery function. The team is responsible for delivering the full scope of site infrastructure required to enable hydrogen, DRI, and steel production at scale.

  • Specific to this role, you will lead the delivery of rail on site, roads, ponds, and non-process buildings, from engineering through construction and handover to operations. You will work in a matrix structure alongside Site Execution, Project Control, and Engineering to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
  • Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following but as we are a growing company with very little silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well.
  • Lead the full lifecycle delivery of your scope, from design and procurement to construction and commissioning
  • Own scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring delivery in line with overall project targets
    Drive contractors and partners to meet cost, quality, and timeline commitments
  • Implement and uphold governance structures across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
  • Manage change control and maintain a clear scope baseline as the source of truth
  • Track critical path activities and secure key milestones
  • Report progress, risks, and escalations to senior management and key stakeholders, including board level when required
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all teams and partners

What you’ll bring

  • 15+ years of industry experience, including at least 10 years leading complex infrastructure or construction projects
  • Engineering degree (B.Sc., M.Sc., or similar), preferably within civil or structural engineering
  • Proven track record delivering large projects through both design and execution phases
  • Strong commercial and contract management experience, ideally from an owner’s side managing EPCM and contractors
  • Solid experience driving cost control, schedule performance, and change management
  • Clear and confident communication skills in English
  • Experience working in multicultural, high-pressure environments
  • A leadership style that creates momentum, drives decisions, and keeps teams focused on delivery and safety
