PROJECT CONTEXT

TotalEnergies operates Combined Cycle Gas Plants (CCGT) acquired over the years from various incumbent operators. The designs of these power plants and in particular the architectures of the Digital Control Systems and PLCs meet the standards of manufacturers such as Siemens, GE or Ansaldo.

The objective of the project is to:

  • To bring the DCS and PLCs at our sites into compliance with TotalEnergies' standards by segregating the Safety and Process Control functions in order to meet the Company's cybersecurity requirements on the one hand and to ensure compliance with IEC 61508/61511 on the other hand.
  • Address hardware and software obsolescence.

The table below lists the sites to be treated, the type of DCS and the year of execution of the planned compliance in the event of a major shutdown of the shaft line.

  • CCGT & DCS & Compliance Execution
  • Saint-Avold 7 (France) & Siemens T3000 & 2028
  • Castejon 1 (Spain) & ABB & 2028
  • Pont-Sur-Sambre - PSS (France) & T3000 Siemens & 2029
  • Saint-Avold 8 - STA8 (France) & Siemens T3000 & 2030
  • Castejon 3 - CTJ 3 (Spain) & ABB & 2032
  • Toul (France) & Siemens T3000 & 2032

The project is divided into the following phases:

  • Selection by call for tenders of an independent engineering company to carry out a pre-study on Saint-Avold 7 and Castejon 1 with option for PSS/STA8/CTJ3/TOUL (Target Q1 - 2026)
  • Completion of this pre-study and definition of the envisaged target architectures with cost estimates for Saint-Avold 7 and Castejon 1 with option for PSS/STA8/CTJ3/TOUL (Target Q3/4 - 2026)
  • Call for tenders and contractualization for detailed engineering, preparation and execution of the chosen architectural diagram on Saint-Avold 7 and Castejon 1 with option for PSS/STA8/CTJ3/TOUL (End of execution Q3 - 2028 on STA7 and CTJ1)

The candidate will take part in the 3 stages, as a project manager and expert in the field of automation, by completing/modifying an existing specification for the pre-study phase. The candidate will lead the engineering company in the pre-study phase and will interface with the production sites, the technical teams at the headquarters and the manufacturers (Siemens, ABB, Ansaldo, GE, etc.). The candidate will bring all his expertise to guide the studies towards the most pragmatic solutions while respecting the Company's requirements and planning imperatives.

The candidate will also explore the actions taken in this area by other CCGT operators in Europe.

The candidate may be asked on an ad hoc basis on other subjects during the tender consultation phases or during the business mobilisation phases.

GOALS AND DELIVERABLES
