Kintec are currently partnered with a pioneering Green Steel Production Company who are constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that will produce Green Steel – Green Steel production emits up to 95% less CO₂ compared conventional steel production.
Description
Our client is looking for a Project Manager – Steel Mill Area for the Steelmaking and Casting Project Team. In this role, you will report to the Area Manager – Steelmaking and Casting and work within the Project Delivery function. The team is responsible for delivering the Steelmaking and Casting area of the integrated plant, from engineering through procurement and construction, ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget execution.
Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of assigned work packages within the Steel Mill area, owning scope, budget, schedule, and quality

Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction activities across internal teams and external partners

Drive progress through structured planning (L3–L5 schedules) and close collaboration with Project Controls

Manage and challenge EPCM contractors and OEMs to ensure performance and accountability

Identify risks early, maintain mitigation plans, and escalate issues that impact cost, time, or quality

Lead interface coordination across adjacent packages to ensure consistency and smooth execution

Promote a strong safety culture in all phases of project delivery
Qualifications

10+ years of experience in project management within heavy industry or large capital projects

Experience managing EPC work packages in steelmaking, EPCM, or similar industrial environments

Strong understanding of cost control, detailed scheduling (L3–L5), and risk management

Experience leading cross-functional teams in matrix organizations

Proven ability to hold contractors and suppliers accountable for delivery

Structured problem-solving skills and the ability to make clear decisions in complex situations

Fluency in English; Swedish and/or German are a plus

Willingness to be based in Boden and contribute on site
