Project Engineer (Mechanical)
Location: Ras Laffan (Onshore)
Working Schedule: 5 days per week
Contract Duration: 2 years (secondment)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the planning, management, and execution of multiple brownfield modification and retrofit projects. The role involves ensuring safe and efficient project delivery across onshore and offshore facilities, while meeting strict standards for safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee planning and execution of brownfield modification and retrofit projects.

Ensure all project activities comply with health, safety, environment, and quality standards.

Support project concept selection and planning, including risk assessments and cost/schedule evaluations.

Lead Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and coordinate Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) activities.

Review and manage construction strategies, contractor performance, and site execution for shutdown and non-shutdown works.

Monitor schedules, identify critical paths, and develop mitigation strategies.

Analyse project costs, forecast trends, and recommend recovery measures where required.

Prepare and review tender documents, scope of work, evaluation criteria, and vendor qualifications.

Engage with multiple stakeholders including contractors, vendors, regulators, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).

Minimum 8 years’ experience in project execution within engineering and operations.

Strong background in brownfield projects, including SIMOPS and debottlenecking.

Proven ability to manage complex shutdown projects under tight deadlines.

Advanced computer literacy and familiarity with engineering systems and tools.

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
