Job Title: Project Controls Lead

Location: Qatar – Onshore / Offshore

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Project Controls Lead to manage planning, cost control, and schedule monitoring for complex industrial projects. The role will lead the development and maintenance of project controls throughout the project lifecycle, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and provide guidance to project teams and contractors to ensure project objectives are met within scope, cost, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of project schedules, cost forecasts, progress tracking, and variance analysis.

  • Provide project control support across engineering, construction, commissioning, and other project phases.

  • Coordinate technical input into commercial agreements and liaise with external stakeholders and contractors.

  • Support development of procurement and contracting strategies, baseline schedules, and work packages for EPC contracts.

  • Assess contractor claims for time extensions, additional costs, and schedule impacts; advise on mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor project costs and adherence to approved budgets.

  • Provide guidance to contractors to ensure project controls, reporting, and progress measurement are aligned with requirements.

  • Lead change control, schedule impact analysis, and recovery planning.

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management and project stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of multi-discipline project experience in the oil & gas or industrial sector, including planning and budget control across project execution, engineering design (FEED and/or detail), construction, commissioning, shutdowns, and drilling/well services.

  • At least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Technical and Business Skills:

  • Strong analytical, organisational, and planning skills.

  • Commercially aware with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills in English.

  • Advanced proficiency in standard office applications; SAP knowledge is an advantage.

  • Ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary project teams and provide leadership in project controls functions.
