Position Title: Project Control Engineer
Location: Qatar - Ras Laffan / Doha / Offshore
Working Schedule: 8-10 hours/day, 6 days/week

Contract Term: 24 months (with possibility of extension)
Job Description
The Project Control Engineer ensures that project control functions are aligned with departmental strategy and supports scheduling, monitoring, and cost control across all project phases. The role involves reviewing contractor costs, progress, and schedule performance, implementing planning and reporting procedures, and managing budget figures, invoicing, and change orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement integrated project planning, scheduling, and cost control procedures
- Review and analyse invoices, timesheets, equipment usage, and daily manhour reports
- Monitor contractor performance, including production rates, deliverable completion, and productivity indices
- Liaise with project teams to determine approved installed quantities and final quantities at completion
- Support investigation of contractual deviations and assist with EOT assessments
- Track actual costs against BoQ and budget, flag potential overruns, and recommend corrective actions
- Conduct on-site measurements to confirm completed work matches billed quantities
- Update cost-to-complete forecasts and cash flow projections regularly
- Maintain organized records of cost-related correspondence, approvals, and calculations
- Assess and certify interim payment applications
- Review contractor deliverables related to planning packages, recovery plans, and reporting
- Provide daily progress reports for onshore/offshore campaigns
- Monitor and analyse contractor schedule trends, critical paths, and scope changes
- Validate contractor Level III schedules based on actual installation quantities
- Review contractor manpower plans and provide as-built schedules, manpower, and final installed quantity statistics
- Establish performance analysis processes for benchmarking and best practices in project control
- Monitor and challenge contractor cost information, change orders, and claims
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 7 years' multi-discipline experience in the oil & gas industry with emphasis on planning, scheduling, and cost control
- Proficient in Primavera or similar planning software and professional office applications
- Strong planning, analytical, and reporting skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
