Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Design & Application Engineer to join a globally recognised engineering team supporting the delivery of cutting-edge electrical power solutions. The successful candidate will take ownership of technical challenges across design, support, and product integration. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support across front-end, production, quality, and service teams on electrical systems and component design.

  • Lead both sustaining and new development projects while managing daily engineering queries.

  • Maintain engineering databases and relevant design/process documentation.

  • Understand and manage cross-functional design impacts, including process flow, space constraints, heat generation, and system safety.

  • Offer technical expertise on third-party products used in customer solutions, including:

    • Design integration of distribution panels, transfer switches, voltage droppers, etc.

    • Testing and qualification procedures for new part introduction.

    • Draft and implement clear design rules for third-party product integration.

    • Collaborate with procurement to support technical queries related to supplier qualification.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in electrical design engineering.

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in project management or execution.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound technical decisions.

  • Familiarity with international engineering processes and safety standards.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).

Additional Desirable Experience

  • Practical testing of low voltage systems for troubleshooting and analysis.

  • Understanding of key measurements and data reporting for electrical tests.

  • Ability to plan and lead testing activities and liaise effectively with engineering teams.

  • Exposure to or knowledge of:

    • UPS, distribution panels, switchgear, transformers, protection devices

    • High power electrical components (thyristors, chokes, capacitors)

    • Electrical design tools and PDM (Part Data Management) software

    • SAP at user level

    • Electrical drawing interpretation (schematics, BOMs, SLDs)
