Procurement Manager

Location: Doha, Qatar

We are supporting a well-established organisation in the energy sector that is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement operations across a portfolio of large-scale oil and gas projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven procurement professional with a strong background in EPC environments.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will lead a team of procurement professionals to deliver high-value procurement strategies in support of complex engineering projects. The role involves end-to-end procurement management-from sourcing and supplier evaluation through to contract award and delivery performance oversight. Your leadership will be key to ensuring cost efficiency, schedule adherence, and procurement compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Award Activities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project objectives, cost targets, and quality requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to define project procurement needs
  • Lead supplier market analysis, pre-qualification, and selection processes
  • Manage commercial and contractual negotiations to secure optimal terms and mitigate risk
  • Oversee the full procurement lifecycle from requisition to delivery and payment
  • Ensure supplier performance is tracked, reported, and escalated where necessary
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost optimisation opportunities
  • Support and develop the procurement team through coaching and mentoring
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation in compliance with internal and regulatory standards

Key Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years in procurement roles within the EPC oil and gas sector
  • Prior exposure to the GCC region is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of procurement, expediting, and supply chain procedures in engineering project environments
  • Proficient in ERP systems-SAP preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse supplier proposals, conduct cost benchmarking, and identify strategic sourcing opportunities
  • Excellent negotiation skills and commercial acumen
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills across stakeholders and suppliers

Desirable Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Professional certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g. CIPS) is highly regarded
