Job Title: Procurement Engineer
Client: Multi-national corporation which provides consulting, engineering, and architecture services Internationally
Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract
Location: Lulea, Sweden
Residential/ Rotation: 3 weeks on office/site, one week working on remote, on rotation. Working 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

ROLE OVERVIEW
A successful Procurement Engineer for industrial projects should combine technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strategic vision. They must be adept at balancing cost, quality, and delivery while navigating complex supply chains and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supplier Selection & Evaluation: Assess suppliers for technical competence, quality systems, and compliance with project specifications.
- Contract Negotiation: Secure favourable terms while ensuring adherence to technical and quality standards.
- Technical Compliance: Review engineering drawings and specifications to guarantee purchased materials meet project requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify procurement risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Cost Optimization: Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to achieve savings without compromising quality.
- Logistics & Delivery Management: Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment aligned with project schedules.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, project management, and construction teams to align procurement activities with overall project goals.
- Negotiation & Influencing: Craft win-win agreements with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Project Management: Manage procurement schedules, budgets, and milestones effectively.
- Communication & Technical Writing: Prepare clear reports, proposals, and documentation.
- Risk & Resilience Management: Handle disruptions and maintain continuity in supply chains.
- Ethical & Sustainable Procurement: Ensure compliance with ESG principles and regulatory standards
REQUIRED
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related) or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: more than 5 years in procurement or engineering roles, ideally in industrial projects
- Engineering Knowledge: Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
- Supply Chain Management: Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
- Quality Assurance: Familiarity with Qa/Qc standards and inspection protocols.
- Data & Cost Analysis: Strong analytical skills for evaluating bids and supplier performance.
