Job Title: Procurement Coordinator

Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Coordinator to support the successful execution of a large-scale onshore oil and gas development project. This role involves comprehensive procurement management across all phases of project delivery, from strategy development to vendor management, with a strong focus on performance, quality, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee procurement activities throughout project execution, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and standards.

  • Develop procurement strategies for Long Lead Items (LLIs) and define the scope of work for contractor procurement in line with project and corporate procedures.

  • Monitor and manage changes during engineering, tendering, and procurement phases.

  • Track engineering requisitions and stay updated on procurement and delivery schedules.

  • Interface with contractor’s buyers, expeditors, and inspectors during the procurement lifecycle.

  • Conduct vendor market research, develop evaluation criteria, and participate in audits to ensure vendor compliance.

  • Update the company’s preferred vendor list based on project insights and lessons learned.

  • Attend technical and commercial meetings to support project procurement needs.

  • Assess vendor performance and coordinate resolutions for procurement-related issues.

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of procurement policies, procedures, and strategies.

  • Manage spare parts data (SPIR) and related SAP processes in collaboration with procurement, warehouse, and operations teams.

  • Support project closeout and identify opportunities for cost/time efficiencies and process simplification.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant procurement experience in oil and gas, with a focus on major onshore projects (experience in both onshore and offshore is an advantage).

  • At least 5 years of direct involvement in onshore project procurement activities.

  • Proven experience with EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning) lump sum contract execution.

  • Proficiency across all procurement disciplines including tendering, buying, expediting, and inspection.

  • Strong understanding of procurement strategies aligned with international codes, project specs, and best practices.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Willingness to travel for vendor site visits, audits, or inspections as needed.
