Job Title: Process Safety Engineering Lead

Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract - Residential
Location: Boden, Sweden
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8 hour days

Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of process safety within the project, ensuring it is integrated throughout the plant's design and delivery.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers to embed safety in every decision, from early design through project execution.
- Serve as the process safety expert within the project delivery team, supporting the organization, and preparing for seamless handover of safety processes to operational teams.
- Lead and be accountable for process safety across the entire scope of the project.
- Drive HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessments, ensuring outcomes are properly implemented.
- Review and challenge engineering designs from a safety perspective.
- Define and implement Swedish and European safety requirements for the project.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders on safety and permitting matters.
- Develop structures for follow-up, risk tracking, and compliance.
- Act as the go-to specialist for all process safety matters, both technically and operationally.

Requirements
- Extensive experience in the steel industry or similar heavy industry environments.
- Strong knowledge of Swedish safety legislation and its application in industrial projects.
- Several years of practical experience in process safety within industrial projects or operations.
- Proven ability to lead or facilitate HAZOPs, risk assessments, or comparable activities.
- Capable of challenging technical approaches and making clear, evidence-based decisions.
- Proven teamwork skills and the ability to motivate others to comply with safety standards.
- Comfortable taking responsibility for key safety decisions while collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
