Overview
A leading global risk and engineering advisory organisation is seeking a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant to support energy sector clients across the IMEA region. This role focuses on delivering specialised consulting services to oil and gas and petrochemical operators, with emphasis on process safety, asset integrity, operational reliability, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct asset integrity and reliability assessments, including mechanical integrity, corrosion management, inspection strategies, and failure prevention

Evaluate and enhance process safety management systems, including hazard identification and risk analysis such as HAZOP and LOPA

Support operational excellence initiatives through process optimisation, lean practices, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods

Plan and manage safe and efficient turnaround activities, including risk assessment, scheduling, and project coordination

Provide risk and safety advisory services for hydrogen and renewable energy projects where applicable

Advise clients on environmental management, emissions reduction, sustainability, and energy efficiency initiatives

Support organisations in optimising staffing levels and competency frameworks to manage operational risk effectively

Perform risk assessments to support investment decisions related to maintenance, safety, and environmental performance

Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, recommending corrective and preventive actions

Ensure compliance with industry regulations related to process safety, asset integrity, and environmental performance

Provide strategic advisory support on operational risk, turnaround planning, and emerging energy technologies

Prepare technical reports, analysis, and client presentations

Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development activities
Requirements

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or related discipline)

5 to 8 years of experience in risk engineering, operations, asset integrity, process safety, reliability, maintenance, or turnaround management within oil and gas or petrochemicals

Strong technical knowledge of process safety, asset integrity, maintenance and reliability, and operational risk management
-
Experience in hydrogen, renewables, environmental management, or energy efficiency is an advantage

Advanced spreadsheet skills for data analysis and reporting

Proficiency in presentation tools for client reporting and technical communication

Experience with industry risk modelling or safety simulation tools is desirable

Experience supporting operational excellence programmes using lean or continuous improvement methods

Previous consulting experience or client-facing experience preferred

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Willingness to travel across the IMEA region as required
