Job Title: Principal Subsea Systems Engineer

Location: London, UK

Contract Type: Permanent

Job Purpose:
An established offshore energy company is seeking a Principal Subsea Systems Engineer to support the engineering and delivery of seabed production and control infrastructure across early study phases through to project execution.

The role ensures subsea systems are developed in line with project objectives, established engineering practices, and regulatory expectations, while collaborating with internal disciplines, equipment suppliers, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering activities across early study, definition, and delivery stages for offshore subsea systems

  • Contribute to subsea layouts, system architecture, and outline control system designs

  • Define functional and performance requirements for subsea production and control solutions

  • Assist in evaluating technical drivers and alternative system options

  • Provide input to planning, scheduling, cost awareness, and technical risk discussions

  • Work with multi-discipline teams to gather and integrate design inputs

  • Coordinate technical matters with suppliers and external stakeholders

  • Review and support validation of technical requirements and documentation

  • Participate in equipment testing and system integration activities

  • Support final technical documentation and transition of systems to operations

  • Assist in resolving technical queries during project execution

  • Contribute to engineering risk reviews and ongoing project support

Requirements:

  • Strong background in offshore subsea production and control systems

  • Knowledge of subsea equipment and applicable engineering standards

  • Familiarity with subsea power, control, and communication systems

  • Experience supporting early project and definition phases of offshore developments

  • Involvement in delivery, installation, or commissioning of subsea systems

  • Experience within consultancy, OEM, fabrication, or offshore project environments

  • Ability to coordinate with technical stakeholders and produce clear engineering documentation

  • Experience working with client teams and technical assurance processes

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK; visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional candidates

  • The role may require travel to offshore or supplier locations for project activities
