Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Principal Subsea Systems Engineer to support offshore energy developments from early study phases through to project execution. The role sits within an offshore project team responsible for the engineering and delivery of seabed production and control infrastructure.
You will play a key role in ensuring subsea systems are developed in line with project objectives, recognised engineering practices, and applicable regulatory requirements, while working closely with internal disciplines, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Support engineering activities across early study, definition, and delivery phases for offshore subsea systems.

Contribute to subsea layouts, system architecture, and high-level control system designs.

Define functional and performance requirements for subsea production and control solutions.

Evaluate technical drivers and alternative subsea system concepts.

Provide input to planning, scheduling, cost awareness, and technical risk discussions.

Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to gather and integrate design inputs.

Coordinate technical matters with equipment suppliers and external stakeholders.

Review and support validation of technical documentation and engineering requirements.

Participate in equipment testing, factory acceptance testing, and system integration activities.

Support preparation of final technical documentation and transition of systems into operations.

Assist with resolution of technical queries during project execution.

Contribute to engineering risk reviews and ongoing project technical support.
Requirements

Strong background in offshore subsea production and control systems.

Good knowledge of subsea equipment and applicable international engineering standards.

Familiarity with subsea power, control, and communication systems.

Experience supporting early project and definition phases of offshore developments.

Involvement in delivery, installation, or commissioning of subsea systems.

Experience within consultancy, OEM, fabrication, or offshore project environments.

Ability to coordinate with technical stakeholders and produce clear, structured engineering inputs.

Experience working with client teams and technical assurance processes.

Strong communication skills and ability to operate within complex project environments.
