Principal Onshore Pipeline Engineer
Location: Manchester, UK (open to candidates based elsewhere who can travel regularly to Manchester)
We are seeking an experienced Principal Onshore Pipeline Engineer to join a leading engineering team and support major projects in carbon capture and hydrogen. This role will be responsible for leading pipeline engineering activities across all stages of project delivery, from front-end design through to construction and commissioning.
Role Responsibilities:

Lead pipeline engineering activities, ensuring technical quality, solutions, and project delivery within budget and deadlines.

Oversee design work, ensuring compliance with procedures through review, checking, and approval.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders as required.

Prepare estimates and schedules for pipeline engineering activities.

Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Sustainability, and Environmental requirements.

Plan and allocate resources effectively; monitor progress against schedules (SPI) and track hours versus earned value (CPI).

Communicate performance, policies, and procedures to team members; provide feedback and recommendations to management.

Support and mentor colleagues, including career development, training, and performance feedback.

Set objectives and help team members achieve them.
Candidate Requirements:

Significant experience in onshore pipeline projects.

Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Chartered Engineer status, or at least 10 years of experience in pipeline engineering.

Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Proven ability to deliver complex engineering projects to high standards.
