Job Title: Principal Electrical & Instrument Engineer – Water Sector
Location: London (Hybrid – 1–2 days per week office-based)

We are recruiting for a Principal Engineer to join a well-established engineering design consultancy with a strong pipeline of long-term work in the water, hydrogen, and nuclear sectors.
This is a dynamic role for a motivated engineer who enjoys working across feasibility, FEED, detailed design, and construction support phases. You’ll contribute to a portfolio of water and wastewater projects supporting utilities across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee electrical and control deliverables across all design phases

Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders

Develop Electrical Load Schedules and specify telemetry, MCCs, and instrumentation

Prepare subcontract installation scopes and conduct technical bid evaluations

Support site surveys, construction liaison, and commissioning activities

Ensure compliance with national and international standards, including WIMES

Promote safety, sustainability, and Net Zero initiatives across project delivery
Requirements:

Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering

Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards Chartership

Strong background in EICA design within the water or wastewater sector

Experience approving documentation for construction

Knowledge of UK regulations including ATEX, CE/UKCA, EMC, and PED

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
-
Proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving and project delivery
