Principal Civil Engineer
Location: Leatherhead area, United Kingdom
Contract Type: 12-month contract (inside IR35)
Work Pattern: Office-based, Monday to Friday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Civil Engineer to join a large-scale LNG Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project. This is a long-duration office-based role within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary project team, offering a stable and engaging working environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide civil engineering design input and technical support across all project phases within assigned scope.

Develop and review design basis documents, construction specifications, and material specifications.

Conduct independent engineering studies and produce recommendation reports.

Ensure full compliance with applicable American and European design codes and standards.

Coordinate, direct, and review civil and structural calculations for a wide range of infrastructure, including:

Buildings, equipment support structures, pipe racks, culverts, bridges, and retaining walls.

Foundations (both shallow and piled).

Site civil infrastructure including site preparation, earthworks, and internal road layouts.

Prepare material take-offs aligned with procurement and construction schedules.

Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines, project stakeholders, contractors, and client representatives.

Work closely with global teams to meet project schedules and budget requirements.
Key Requirements

Approximately 12 years of relevant civil engineering experience with engineering consultancies or operating companies.

Strong background in delivering projects for major clients within the oil and gas sector.

Direct experience with Middle Eastern energy operators is essential.

Comprehensive knowledge of applicable international codes and standards.

Proficiency in producing technical documentation and design deliverables.

Excellent coordination, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Ability to manage work independently while integrating effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
