Overview
An established engineering consultancy is expanding its power systems capability and is seeking experienced Grid Connection and Power Systems Engineers at Senior, Lead, and Principal level. These roles sit at the centre of the energy transition, supporting major renewable generation, energy storage, and network infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand.
You will contribute to technically complex grid connection and power system studies, working closely with developers, network operators, regulators, and project stakeholders. The positions offer exposure to large-scale, high-impact projects and clear pathways for technical and leadership progression.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will vary depending on seniority and may include:

Delivery and technical review of grid connection and power system studies

Power system modelling and analysis for transmission and distribution networks

Grid code compliance assessments, including steady-state and dynamic studies
-
Frequency, fault level, stability, and harmonic analysis

Support for renewable energy, battery energy storage, and hybrid generation projects
-
Technical interface with transmission and distribution network operators
-
Client-facing technical advisory support during project delivery and bid stages
-
Mentoring and guidance of junior engineers

For Lead and Principal roles, technical governance, project oversight, and strategic input
Essential Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

Minimum of 5 years experience in power systems or grid connection engineering

Proven experience delivering grid connection or power system studies

Strong understanding of transmission and distribution networks

Knowledge of Australian and or New Zealand grid codes and connection processes

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work effectively with clients and external stakeholders

Full right to work in Australia or New Zealand with no visa restrictions or sponsorship requirements
Desirable Experience

Large-scale renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and energy storage

Advanced dynamic and electromagnetic transient studies

Experience engaging with market operators and network service providers
