Process Safety and Risk Engineer – Expatriate Role (UAE)
We are seeking an experienced engineering professional to join a specialist team supporting clients in the global energy and power sector. Based in either Dubai or Abu Dhabi, this expatriate role involves conducting technical surveys of large-scale assets, delivering risk improvement recommendations, and preparing technical underwriting reports to support insurance placement.
This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with strong experience in process safety, operations, or asset integrity who want to apply their expertise on an international stage.
Key Responsibilities

Survey energy and power industry assets worldwide and produce detailed underwriting reports

Recommend process safety improvements and best practices to strengthen risk management

Calculate estimated maximum loss (EML) values associated with potential major incidents

Collaborate with client executives, brokers, and claims teams to provide technical support for insurance placement and proposals

Contribute to thought-leadership papers and technical publications on process safety management
Requirements

Significant experience in the energy and/or power generation sector

Bachelor's degree in engineering (or similar technical discipline)

Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations and lead survey meetings with senior management

Skilled in data analysis and spreadsheet management for loss estimation

Highly organised, with the ability to meet reporting deadlines and coordinate international site visits

Advanced engineering knowledge, including process engineering, process safety management, operations, construction project management, asset integrity, and emergency response
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with major operators or manufacturers

Previous senior management or technical leadership roles

Master's degree in engineering (desirable)

Professional/chartered status, or eligibility to obtain it
