Job Purpose
We are seeking experienced engineers with O&M, construction, or commissioning experience in renewable/clean energy and/or thermal power sectors for a rewarding career within our risk engineering team. Candidates should combine strong analytical and interpersonal skills, be confident communicating at all levels, and capable of producing clear, effective written reports.

  • Work with clients and colleagues to deliver the best risk management and insurance terms by accurately representing client asset risk profiles.

  • Join a global team of 75+ risk engineers within the Global Energy and Power Risk Engineering (GERE) team.

  • Gain exposure to corporate management systems, industry best practices, and regulations.

  • Carry out 15–20 power surveys per year.

  • Undertake short, medium, and long-term training for professional development and career growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Survey a global portfolio of renewable or power industry assets, supporting insurance placement through development of underwriting reports.

  • Recommend improvements to process safety performance and implement best practice risk improvement strategies.

  • Calculate estimated maximum loss (EML) values for major incidents using specialist software.

  • Provide technical information and support to client executives, brokers, and claims personnel for insurance placement, tenders, and RFPs.

  • Develop thought-leadership publications to assist clients in process safety management improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive industry experience within the energy and/or power generation sector.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering subject (or similar).

  • Effective communication skills to engage senior management, deliver presentations, and lead survey meetings.

  • Competency in data analysis and spreadsheet management to calculate loss estimates.

  • Strong organizational skills to meet report deadlines and coordinate site visits across multiple countries.

  • Advanced engineering skill set, including experience in process engineering, process safety management, operations management, construction project management, asset integrity management, and emergency response.

Preferred / Distinguishing Attributes

  • Experience working for major Operators or Manufacturers.

  • Senior management or technical leadership experience.

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering (desirable).

  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish, German) advantageous.

  • Professional/Chartered/Fellow of a recognized institute, or experience and training to achieve chartered status.

  • Project management and commissioning experience.
