Overview:
An experienced Planning and Excellence Specialist is required to support an international energy and operations organisation. The role focuses on driving strategic planning, business performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise operational effectiveness across multiple departments.
Job Purpose:
Lead and support the planning, development, and implementation of business plans, performance metrics, improvement initiatives, and data analytics programs to ensure consistent, reliable, and efficient operations across the organisation.

Works closely with: Operations, Support, Engineering, HSE, Finance, and IT teams

External contact: Benchmarking organisations and stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:

Lead implementation of strategic plans, roadmaps, and performance indicator reporting processes across operations

Manage KPI processes and ensure alignment with leadership governance frameworks

Develop and oversee continuous improvement programs, including process and system enhancements

Improve data governance and management processes to increase efficiency

Design dashboards and analytical tools to provide insights into performance and priorities

Act as a coach for Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, mentoring teams to build internal capability

Facilitate data submissions, management reviews, and performance analyses to identify improvement opportunities

Serve as focal point for corporate benchmarking studies and implement best practices
-
Support process assessments and ensure alignment with corporate quality and governance standards

Coordinate shareholder audits and monitor closure of audit actions

Conduct studies to improve operational effectiveness, communication, and cross-functional collaboration
Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline

Minimum 8 years of experience in operations, maintenance, or engineering functions

Proven experience in strategic planning, KPI management, and benchmarking

Lean Six Sigma certification with a track record of delivering improvement projects
Technical and Business Skills:

Excellent written and spoken English

Strong proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools such as Power BI, JMP, or Minitab

Knowledge of Business Analysis and Business Process Management

Strong presentation, facilitation, and project management skills
