Location: Qatar (Site-based)

About the Opportunity

We are looking for experienced Coating & Insulation professionals to join a major energy project. Whether you are a Supervisor ready to lead teams in delivering high-quality coating and insulation works, or an Inspector specialising in QA/QC activities, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work on complex projects in a challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervisor duties:

  • Supervise insulation and painting works, allocating manpower and equipment to meet project requirements.
  • Inspect and test substrates before and after preparation (e.g., rust grades, contamination levels, surface preparation).
  • Monitor climatic conditions to ensure suitability for blasting and coating applications.
  • Oversee inspection and test sequences as per approved ITPs.
  • Coordinate with clients during joint inspections.
  • Plan, control, and ensure quality across all activities.
  • Attend project meetings and provide input on QA/QC and coating-related issues.
  • Review technical data of materials and ensure correct application as per manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Inspect blasting and painting tools/equipment, including calibration validity.
  • Monitor blasting, painting, coating, fireproofing, and waterproofing operations.
  • Identify coating faults, recommend rectifications, and advise on prevention.
  • Ensure safe working practices and participate in safety audits.

Inspector duties:

  • Perform inspection activities as per the relevant Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
  • Monitor work and coordinate inspections with client representatives.
  • Inspect materials used in blasting, painting, and coating, verifying technical data sheets and documentation.
  • Conduct qualification tests for blasters, paint applicators, and crew supervisors.
  • Check ambient conditions (humidity, dew point, air and steel temperatures, WFT/DFT).
  • Carry out adhesion, curing, contamination, and holiday tests in critical areas.
  • Review repair procedures to prevent corrosion under insulation.
  • Evaluate daily coating reports and maintain quality records.
  • Perform final inspections and prepare documentation for project handover.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Oil & Gas projects in a coating, painting, or insulation supervision/inspection role.
  • Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Certification such as NACE Level 2 (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Additional painting or coating certifications are an advantage.
